Beer, Dagos, And Getting Called A Douche

I want to personally thank everyone who came out to the Minneapolis Tumblr meetup at Dusty’s last night. It was a wonderful evening of beer, fellowship, and more beer. In all seriousness, getting together and meeting you fine people meant a lot to me, and I can’t wait to do it again.

*Ed Kohler was not in physical attendence at the meetup, but he did text me from Canada and we hoisted a beer together at that time. I’m getting teary eyed just thinking about it.

Highlights of the evening…
The guy with five teeth in the corner of the bar who was the self appointed guardian of the jukebox. He only had one rule-“None of that rap crap”, and he enjoyed looking at the pretty ladies at our table.

Talking with Taylor (Mediation) about the benefits of white dudes having cornrows. (I am warming to the idea)

Seeing the cell phone pics of the guy James (The Opie) works with who can balance office furniture on his face.

Explaining to people that the “Dago” while an ethnic slur, is really just a Italian sausage hamburger that has made Dusty’s bar famous.

Giving a bottle of Budweiser to Angie and having her accuse myself and Taylor of spitting in it.

Sitting at the bar with Tom Flynn (Mighty Flynn) talking about baseball for awhile, when the group started chanting “douche” at us. Uncalled for? Not really. Did we deserve it? Absoulutely. Are Tom Flynn and I douches? Probably.

Alicia (am-neubs) and I are already talking about a Spring meetup, which involves the words outdoor, patio, and (God willing) warm weather!
