ESPN Radio executives have long been looking to have a full-time affiliate in the Twin Cities. On Thursday, they got their wish.
In a move that will cause a major shakeup at KSTP-AM, the Hubbard-owned station announced that it will become “1500 ESPN Twin Cities.”
That creates a second full-time all-sports station in this market and means the 1500 AM signal will become direct competition for KFAN, which has owned the all-sports brand in Minneapolis-St. Paul since 1991.
Wow. KSTP-1500 AM has been the “talk” station in the Twin Cities for as long as I can remember.
